Woman bags 90 years for N5m admission scam
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured the conviction of Mrs. Chika Amsy Charles, on Thursday, 27th October, 2016 who was convicted by Justice D.V Agishir of the Federal High Court in Enugu State, and sentenced to 3 years imprisonment on each of the thirty count charge preferred against her by the Commission.
The sentence which was to run concurrently from the date of her conviction was without an option of a fine.
She was found guilty of swindling young Nigerians under the guise of helping them to secure admission into
the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUTH).
She was said to have perpetrated the crime through her unregistered non-governmental organisation (NGO) known as Bold and Dynamic Gender Initiative. Luck ran out on her when one of her victims petitioned the EFCC.
