Senate Pres. Bukola loses bid to stop his CCT trial
Court of Appeal has dismissed an application filed by Senate President, Bukola Saraki, in Abuja on Thursday, 27th October, 2016 challenging the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to entertain the charges of false asset declaration leveled against him by the Federal government.
Delivering judgment on Senate President Application today, Justice Abdul Aboki who led the five-man panel ruled that the appeal is unmeritorious and was then entirely dismissed. The judges unanimously ruled that the tribunal was constitutionally empowered to entertain and try him for the 16-charges of corruption and false asset declaration brought against him.
