Kidnappers release abducted students and Vice Principal

The 4 students, Emmanuel, Ruth Jeremiah, Abu, Isaac Adebisi, Junior School, A. O Oyesola, Vice Principal and Lukman Oyerinde, the English teacher, who were abducted on Thursday, 6th October, 2015 at the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla in Epe have been released by the kidnappers around 10:00pm, yesterday night.

The kidnappers initially demanded N120, 000, 000 (One Hundred and Twenty Million Naira) for the release of the kidnapped people but then reduced it to N3, 500, 000 (Three Million and Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) on Sunday.

The release comes after the family of one of the students who reportedly fell ill in the kidnapper's den, paid a N1m ransom yesterday. The family members had earlier in the day gone to drop the money at an undisclosed area as suggested by the kidnappers.

The father of one of the abducted students, Mr. Oluwafemi Adebisi, confirmed that his son was back home and in good health.

Mr. Oluwafemi Adebisi said:

“I thank God for everything. My son has been released to us. He is in good health. God is amazing.”

A police source says no arrest has been made yet.
