Tricycle rider jailed one month for obstructing traffic
A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Friday sentenced a 25-year-old tricycle rider, Mustafa Balla, to one month in prison for obstructing traffic.

Balla of Gwarinpa village pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced accordingly on the two-count charge of causing obstructing and driving without licence levelled against him.

The judge, Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave the convict an option to pay N5, 000 fine and advised him to be a good citizen.

The prosecutor, Mrs Florence Auhioboh, had told the court that one Gloria Lrimiya, attached to Life Camp Police Station, reported the incident on May 25.

Auhioboh said Lrimiya arrested the convict along Life Camp Karmo road by Kado fish market at about 8 am on the same date.
She said the convict drove his tricycle with Registration LSD 708 QH recklessly and hindered free passage of persons and vehicles on a public high way

Auhioboh said that during police interrogation, the convict admitted committing the offence, which contravened Sections 63 (3) of the Road Traffic Regulations and 10 (1) of Road Traffic law.
